Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process stages will vary depending on the post applied for. It may include various shortlisting and selection tools such as Computer Based Test / Written Test / Typing Test, Group Task, Psychometric Assessment, Skill Test, Moot Court, Personal / Technical Interview, Physical Fitness Efficiency Test, etc., depending upon the position requirements.

CBT (if applicable for the post) will consist of objective-type questions (subjective questions as well for Legal and HR Officers) and will comprise two parts.

Part Details
Part I General Aptitude consisting of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude Test, and Intellectual Potential Test (Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation).
Part II Technical / Professional Knowledge comprising questions related to the qualifying degree / educational background required for the applied position.

Computer Based Test will be conducted tentatively on 03-05-2026. More details about the CBT such as syllabus and detailed pattern will be notified in due course and will also be communicated to shortlisted candidates through email. After the examination, candidates will be able to view their individual marks and cut-offs under Candidate Login.

Document Upload and Shortlisting

Candidates qualifying in the Computer Based Test, in order of merit and predetermined ratio, will be advised to upload supporting documents for certain positions. Based on scrutiny of the application, uploaded documents, and category-wise and discipline-wise merit list in the Computer Based Test, shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Task and/or Personal Interview.

Group Task / Personal Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for Group Task and/or Personal Interview, as applicable. Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the applicable selection stages such as Computer Based Test, Group Task, and Personal Interview to be considered for further selection process.

Candidates may also be required to undergo Psychometric Assessment along with Group Task and/or Personal Interview. Document verification will be conducted before Personal Interview.

Final Merit List and Offer of Appointment

Category-wise and discipline-wise merit list will be prepared for all candidates who qualify in all applicable stages. Combined performance will be considered for drawing the final merit list. Offer of appointment will be issued as per category-wise and discipline-wise vacancies available.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • SC / ST / PwBD – Exempted from payment of application fee.
  • UR / OBC-NCL / EWS – β‚Ή1180 + payment gateway charges (Application Fee β‚Ή1000 + GST @18%).

HPCL Recruitment 2026 application must be submitted through online mode only. Candidates are advised to carefully read the detailed advertisement before applying. The complete step-wise process is given below:

  1. Online application will be accepted only through the prescribed online application portal, up to 25-03-2026.
  2. Provide a valid email ID and mobile number which should remain active for at least one year. Candidates must use an email ID created in their own name.
  3. Upload photograph and signature during the application process. The same will be used for issuance of CBT admit card and further verification.
  4. All details entered in the online application form will be treated as final. No changes or modifications will be allowed after submission.
  5. Applicable application fee as per category must be paid online.
  6. Candidates will be required to submit documentary evidence of eligibility during the shortlisting/selection process within the stipulated time as advised by HPCL.
  7. For certain positions, candidates may be informed through email to upload documents related to age, qualification, experience, etc., within the specified deadline. Failure to upload documents within the given time will result in rejection of the application.
  8. There is no instruction to send a printed copy of the application to Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited at this stage. Candidates may keep a printed copy for future reference.
